It’s cool to flippantly disregard the established orthodoxy (and don’t let anyone tell you it isn’t), but only when you can actually back that disregard up with understanding.
Forum Rules

Be kind. Don’t be a jerk. Learn to disagree with others’ ideas while still caring for them as people. Speak and act in good faith.

Help the newbies. Discussion can get pretty in the weeds, especially without past context, so take a second to help show more recent members the ropes. Link the old blogposts, readings, and episodes.

No bigotry. No AI. No spam. Don’t platform or support bigots, fascists, or creeps.

Employ content warnings around heavier or less-comfortable topics. They’re fine to talk about, but discussions need to be opt-in. Tag your NSFW stuff accordingly.

If you want to promote your projects for money or clicks, put it in self-promo thread. If you want to chat about a project you’re working on or a game you ran or something else actively in-progress, go ahead.

In general, we as moderators try to assume ignorance before malice, but have patience for neither malice nor deliberate ignorance. Follow the rules and learn from your mistakes or catch a ban.

At some point in the future, we might update these rules.
