Most of the games I play are megadungeon-based semi-troupe games, and honestly it runs pretty natural.
The big question that I think comes up is how hard to bother tracking locations and timelines of off-duty characters.
Are you ending every session with being outside of the dungeon again? If not, what happens to characters whose players miss a session? Do they just poof in and out of existence?
If side-locations and overland play crops up, are you tracking where every character of every player is at all times or are you just hand-waiving it?
I tend to do open tables, so I lean pretty "just don't look too hard" on these questions, but all styles can work.
